Data is compressed and encrypted before it leaves the computer being backed up.  The encryption key is known only to you.  Nobody, not even CNS, can read the files. Decryption is possible only with the password you set!  We also employ a second level of protection through 128-bit SSL - a secure IP socket between your computer and our backup servers.  This SSL channel encrypts the data again while it transits the Internet.  These security solutions together produce an extremely high level of protection for your important and confidential data.  A third security layer can be gained by adding optional CNS IPSEC services, securing all data from your network to ours with extremely strong and constantly changing encryption.  Restoration can also be limited to designated IP addresses.
